Testimonials

Discover the transformative power of Clarks Grove United Methodist Church through heartfelt testimonials from members whose lives have been positively impacted by the community and faith.

When we moved to this area I wanted to find a new church to attend. One by one I was going to church after church. I called it Church Hopping. I went to about 2 dozen churches in the Elysburg, Sunbury, Shamokin and Danville area. Then I decided to give Clark’s Grove a try. As soon as I sat down, the pastor at the time, Susan Roehs, came over and sat with me. She welcomed me and made conversation. She asked me what brought me here. I told her about the churches I tried and said I just did feel welcome and I did not feel at home in any of them. Then as people started to arrive most came over and greeted me. This was the first church I felt welcome in after moving to this area.

I came back to Clark’s Grove a couple years ago after being part of the Catholic Faith with my husband and children.  Some of the people that knew me through my mother and my grandmother when our family went there when I was a child spoke to me like I never left.  The welcome that me and my husband encountered was like nothing we ever experienced.  The people that didn’t know us welcomed and treated us like “family”!  We got married in this church almost 25 years ago and now we will forever be a part of their family of faith!
